"Band Of Holes"
Crater Field
Anomalies

Pisco District and the

One of the great anomalies of the
greater Nazca plateau and surrounding areas are the
incredible numbers of crater fields - highly
organized grouping of small craters - conical shaped
holes - ranging in size from a yard (a meter) to as
much as 20-30 feet (6-10 meters) in diameter.
These crater fields are mostly
found outside the primary Nazca lines area - in
Palpa and Pisco valleys. However, they are
sprinkled through the region. The complexity
is the fact that no one to date has offered a
comprehensive explanation for these groupings, nor
dated the conclusively.
The mystery is compounded by the
precision of the groupings. In the case of
the Pisco Valley "Road", these craters march off for
literally kilometers with a regularity and precision
nothing short of amazing.
If we were to use our modern eyes,
we could interpret these groups as anything from
aerial bombardment paths, to systematic blasting, to
large scale organized looting. Looting would
seem the more logical assumption, but what is there
to loot in the locations where these crater fields
occur? Those in the Palpa Valley may well
cover settlements, but what of the Pisco crater
fields? Particularly in the sand, such as
those at right?
Certainly, these site are worthy
of study. But, until these sites are explained
or debunked, they remain an enduring enigma for the
Cryptoarchaeologist. |
